Fatty went missing for 5 days. We searched, prayed, and hoped he’d somehow find his way back home. Miraculously… he did. But when my girlfriend was petting him, she noticed something heartbreaking, a hole in his back right leg, infested with maggots, so deep you could see his bone. The infection was eating through his muscle.
Her mom rushed him to the vet immediately. They performed emergency surgery, taking skin from his stomach and grafting it over the wound, stitching him up, wrapping his leg, and doing everything they could to save him.
We picked him up two days later, thinking the worst was behind us... until my girlfriend noticed another small hole. Back to the vet he went.
This time, he came back with 16 stitches in his back and 14 staples in his front left leg! Now we have to bring him back every couple days for the next two weeks so they can drain the wounds and monitor his healing.
It’s been overwhelming, heartbreaking, expensive, and exhausting… but through it all, Fatty has been a fighter. A real trooper. He’s strong, he’s brave, and he’s still here.
This little guy has been through hell and back, but he made it home. And we’ll be right here beside him every step of the way.
Help spread the word about Fatty's story and the importance of animal welfare.
